CoolDjCori began collecting music (albums and cassettes) in 1984. And while not being a paid DJ, he became the go-to person for music for friends and family at various occasions. Coupled with the collections of four family members, his love and taste for music began to grow into a life-long passion.
In the early 1990s, while attending college at NC A&T State University opportunities to become a DJ began to surface and DJ tragedy struck... he loaned a classmate his entire album collection and had his entire collection absconded. This was also the time when CDs entered the scene and hopes of DJ'ing with vinyl and CDs fluttered away. However, it was again "on" for CoolDjCori to re-establish and build his music collection to hundreds of CDs.
Fast forward to the new millennium, MP3s and the digital DJ era. While collecting MP3s, ripping CDs and joining music pools over the years, the time was quickly approaching for CoolDjCori to make his move into the foray of making his passion a reality. An unsolicited request from his church member to "play music" for a family reunion weekend was the spark that set a blaze for years to come. His time was NOW! CoolDjCori has become a client favorite with the enthusiasm, professionalism and energy that he brings to every event!
As a DJ based out of Nashville, TN, he DJs local, private and public gigs as well as some travel gigs to various states. In recent years (even with the slow-down caused by the pandemic) he's DJ'd in Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, and North Carolina. The types of events that he provides DJ services for vary from concerts, festivals, birthday parties, family and class reunions, 5ks, weddings, community events, campaign events, brunches, graduation parties, and include charity events.
CoolDjCori is a vendor for Metro Nashville, MNPS -Metro Nashville Public Schools, Sumner County Schools, Fisk University, Meharry Medical College, Tennessee State University, and Vanderbilt University.
